Felicia Day has fired a lazer beam across the bow of Channel Awesome’s dominant and geeky, vlogging franchise by launching her own collective of geek vloggers. GeekandSundry‘s new sister channel is called GeekandSundryVlogs and it’s now live with its first batch of videos up.

The channel is divided up into the bimonthly contributions of a bunch of hand selected vloggers, who aim to cover the wide range of geek culture by all individually covering their own specific geek niche, ranging from cosplay to creative writing. Also Jeff Lewis will be covering the Jeff Lewis base by just being himself.

The comparison has got to be made to That Guy with the Glasses which hosts videos primarily by Doug Walker but also from a slew of other vloggers who focus on their own specific areas of interest. The difference; Day’s personal taste is very apparent in the selection of GeekandSundry’s vloggers; it’s unlikely you’d ever find a contributor focusing on creative writing on That Guy with the Glasses. That not withstanding there feels like a clear competition between the two platforms, especially from the collectives most popular female contributors Lindsay Ellis, Obscurus Lupa and MarzGurl.
